Straight Length Consistency
A focused solo drill for building a reliable straight length. Start at a controlled pace and make depth, height and tightness more important than power.
Set up
Use one side wall. Aim to land the ball beyond the service box and keep it close to the wall.
Home practice
100 solo forehand drives to the back wall. Count only shots that land beyond the service box and stay close to the wall.
Key cues
Prepare early.
Give the ball height for depth.
Finish balanced and recover toward the T.
Progressions
Start with a bouncier ball or shorter target. Progress to alternating forehand and backhand lengths, then add a recovery-to-T requirement.
