Squash Attacking Volley Drop
Take a loose ball early with a volley drop that keeps the opponent moving forward. Start with a controlled feed and a large target; do not force the shot from a poor position.
Set up
Partner feeds a loose mid-court ball. Volley into a marked front-court target, then recover to cover the reply.
Home practice
Practise the split-step and first step forward: 3 sets of 20 seconds, keeping knees soft.
Key cues
Choose the right ball.
Get the racket prepared early.
Stay balanced through a soft contact.
Progressions
Static feeds; varied height; then live rally points where an attempted volley drop must be from above net height.
